Orientation lock
Having an orientation lock is a must have for the next update. Something so simple. Why it was not included when WP launched is beyond me. The phone is frustrating to use in bed or on laying on the lounge.

Thank you for the suggestion and commentary. We are not adding this capability in the 8.0 release, but know that it is high on the consideration list for future Windows Phone releases.

My Acer Iconia W510 has a dedicated button for lock/unlocking Auto Rotate, please at least give Win8 phones a software feature that Win8 Convertables get as a dedicated button. You obviously understand how important lock/unlocking rotation is otherwise there would not of been software support for the Win8 Convertible to even allow such a button to operate.

If you need orientation lock, use iPhone or an Android phone, or even Blackberry. It seems that Microsoft is not capable of implementing this trial-in-your-viewpoint feature. Without Nokia, Windows phone would have doomed.

Are you f***ing kidding me?!?! How damn difficult is it for Microsoft to release an app that autolocks the screen orientation by disabling the accelerometer?! Its simple as shit. And will improve our lives as WP users immeasurably.
I have to say, there are things i like about my Lumia, and there are things I utterly hate. This is one of them.

No orientation lock! I cant believe it. And there's no notification bar, no option to search for files and cant download big files without wi fi.. Incredible phone but..these are just the basics...

Alphanumeric keyboard is a must for the next update to cater those single handed people and other less capable for qwerty keyboards. Severely imitating iphone platform is an insult for this company. Maintain your design and platform and push an update. Many people like your old nokia applications incorporated in your device. Alphanumeric keypads is one of this.

Just bought Lumia 810. Nice phone. No orientation lock! It's like buying a car that cant make LEFT turns. Essential feature. Returning phone. WP developer team should be fired. You have 2% market share & decide to leave out essential feature that 98% of competition support. Stupidity oe arrogance beyond belief.

It's an absurd that this isn't present with the present windows phone 8. Still haven't found a reason to recommend this phone to anyone. @Cliff Simpkins could you please start listening to your consumers?

Rotation lock is a must have feature. Soon update this feature.it is very irritating to use wp8 without rotation lock. And also add some more effects and more improved clarity in music player.and add touch skip feature in video player.thank you.
