It would be extremely helpful if the emulator could use webcams as camera emulation. Otherwise AR scenarios are hard to develop without a range of devices. It has become even more needed with the addition of WXGA and the different scalings in WP8.

Every time I run the emulator I have to enter the settings again and again, I'm working on app which use the contacts so every time I have to login with my account (actually more than one account to test) change some settings on the phone emulator, when done! voila next day or next restart I need to enter the accounts and the settings again and again.

We can access exif info (limited) using a Picture object when dealing with Media library. But if we try to save an Image within app inside Media library or some Isolated storage we can't prserve exif info of that image. A better manipulation of exif APIs will be very helpfull. When user is with in an app and there is an active call in progress the App should receive notification when call ends. Currently there is no support for this and really hard to understand when the call ends. This for example can be used to show meeting minutes screen as soon as a call finishes. I see more uses than simple example I have mentioned below.

I think you should allow Windows 7 computer owners the ability to develop Windows 8 phone apps. They have a device to develop on, I believe the only thing you can't do is use the emulator. I have everything up and running, except VS express 2012 won't recognize my windows 8 phone and deploy to it, so I can test my app. Can I manually place the .xap file using file explorer, or is there some way to fix this? It gives me this error 'Microsoft.SmartDevice.Connectivity.PlatformNotFoundException'

There is currently no way to know if an EmailComposeTask was cancelled or got an error while sending. I need to be able to tell if the user actually went through with the email to know whether to delete the email text. Otherwise I have to ask the user if they sent it (poor user experience).
