Dev Platform
Welcome to the Windows Phone Developer Feedback site
This forum focuses on the developer platform (APIs, runtimes, and controls) that you use to build great app experiences for Windows Phone. Additional WPDev forums are available using the links along the right of the page. Consumer features suggestions should be submitted to the Windows Phone Suggestion Box site (http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/).
Suggestions provided via the WPDev UserVoice forum will be reviewed and read by the Windows Phone developer platform team, providing feedback to help with planning ideas and to better understand how developers are using the development platform, and all suggestions will be considered.
Two important notes about this site: (a) List items (and item rankings) represent community interest in features, and does not represent an actual priority list for the product team; and (b) Suggestions made using this forum will be moderated if they do not actually represent a feature request.

Pay once for Windows Phone & Windows 8
We should be able to allow people to pay once for our apps and then they can get both version of our apps for Windows Phone or Windows 8 without having to make them pay twice.

Make payouts every month!
Please make payouts for apps and in-app products every month!
For now, we have to wait at least 4 months after we get $200 of revenue from our apps. It's a shame! There's no benefit of developing for Windows Phone at all, it's better to develop for iOS, Android and even BlackBerry first, and then, maybe, some time, for Windows Phone.
You should remove these idiotic limits and make payouts for developers every month, not depending on what revenue did they get from their apps! Or if you don't want to or cannot (don't believe though), then you should not…

Viber for Mango!
Viber is an extremely popular application similar to Tango, but better in some ways.
It has more users -> more people to call.
The application is built into your contact list (no application to open).
You can text people using Viber. Here is the info thats available on the Website of Viber:
Viber is an application for free international calls and text messages to other Viber users using 3G or Wi-Fi. Uses your existing contact list - check out which of your phone contacts and friends is already on Viber so that you can call and text them for free.28 votes -
Support Monthly/Yearly subscriptions for app purchasing.
As app developers we are currently stuck with 2 methods of generating revenues 1) one time app payment 2) Ads.
I would like to see a monthly/yearly subscription model introduced that let me charge users $5 a year for my app for example.
This would mean we could make ad free apps that developers are motivated to keep adding features to over time since they are generating ongoing revenues.

Top Rated Apps List
I spent so much time and effort making an awesome app with almost 5 star averaging rating, yet there is no option in the Marketplace to sort by Top Rated so that people can easily find it ?!
Please add a Top Rated list ASAP!14 votes -
Option to submit your app only to markets where taxes are accounted for.
Currently, you can submit an app to all countries, or specific countries. I would like a button I can click that will only select the countries for which Microsoft already accounts for any taxes.

Free Apps with Donation in addition to Paid Apps with Trial
With WP7 we have the unique ability to offer Trails for Paid Apps, which is great. However, it would be nice if developers could offer Free Apps with a possibility to users for voluntary donations. Some devs do the workaround and offer a Paid app, with the trial version having no restrictions at all (if the user clicks 'buy', he essentially donates to the dev).
However, this workaround has the disadvantage of the app not apprearing in the 'free' category, though they are actually free. Therefore, it would be great if devs could put apps in the marketplace offering two…

Simplify the Payout registration process for non US developers!
The current process is very lengthy and costly for non US developers. Why can't Microsoft simplify it? Make it similar if not the same as Google!?!?!
Having read through the cumbersome process, I am more incline to build FREE apps with subscription rather than getting any money through the Marketplace.
Having to deal with physical paperwork (sending it back and forth) is a step backwards... we are living in a digital world!
There are heaps and HEAPS of really good developers outside of US who really want to contribute to making Windows Phone a preferred choice, so please Microsoft; make…

Launch app from market
When searching in the market you should be able to open the app if already installed.

Better Store Analytics
Currently, there is no way of knowing if a user converts from our own advertising campaign or "out of the blue". It would be great if we could link to an app's store page with a campaign code, and get the breakdown by campaign codes in our daily stats. For example:
United States Paid (after trial) 32
United States Paid (after trial, campaign XYZ) 64
United States Paid (without trial) 16
United States Paid (without trial, campaign XYZ) 48
United States Trial 192
United States Trial (campaign XYZ) 28410 votes -

Option to have a podcast check for updates
Although you can subscribe to podcasts I cannot find a way to force a podcast to check for updates. Even if you see an update is available in the market there is no obvious way to force a podcast to update.

Notify publishers when an app is featured
There is currently no indication that an application is being featured, it would be nice to receive a email prior to it being featured to indicate what dates / countries it will be featured in.

Optional game rating requirements for Brazil and Korea
Many small developers skip Brazil and Korea from worldwide distribution because there are mandatory rating agency requirements.

Fix the way the marketplaces uses key word tags for apps
Start by expanding the number of apps that can use a certain key word, such as "childrens stories" so that new apps who innovate can displace those who got their first with potentially crappy apps. Secondly, you need to limit the number of apps that a publisher can submit with a particular key word. For instance, if I build a children's book app and then submit that same app 50 times, each time with a different name and book loaded, i have essentially used up all the available space on the marketplace app search results screen, thereby stifling competition and…

App Hub web interface enhancement
Unstable loading, page layout glitch and too slow response.
Hard to understand error messages.
(e.g. "Now I am getting the error: An error occurred saving your data to the server. Please try again.")

Reward beta testers with the app for free
Beta testers test our apps for free. It would be nice if when the app/game is published in the marketplace we could include a list of the testers that helped us so they can get the app from free instead of having to buy it.

Rankings in Dashboard
International rankings should be shown for apps in the dashboard. There is currently no obvious way to see where your apps or games chart on the top free or top paid lists without visiting the marketplaces for each country.
It would be ideal to be able to see:
Current chart position for each marketplace
Best chart position for each marketplace
Time at best chart positionAll of the above should be for overall (games or apps) and within the specific category the game or app is in.
This would allow developers to say things like:

Existing App availability in Marketplace
As a recent purchaser of a Windows Phone: I love the platform, and it has huge potential to grow in competition with Android and Apple. I am concerned however that Microsoft are not pushing enough for access to successful top selling apps, which are popular on the Iphone and Android platforms e.g. Instagram. If Windows Phones are to compete they have to acknowledge the big selling apps, or they risk losing market share rather than gaining it.
