Dev Platform
Welcome to the Windows Phone Developer Feedback site
This forum focuses on the developer platform (APIs, runtimes, and controls) that you use to build great app experiences for Windows Phone. Additional WPDev forums are available using the links along the right of the page. Consumer features suggestions should be submitted to the Windows Phone Suggestion Box site (http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/).
Suggestions provided via the WPDev UserVoice forum will be reviewed and read by the Windows Phone developer platform team, providing feedback to help with planning ideas and to better understand how developers are using the development platform, and all suggestions will be considered.
Two important notes about this site: (a) List items (and item rankings) represent community interest in features, and does not represent an actual priority list for the product team; and (b) Suggestions made using this forum will be moderated if they do not actually represent a feature request.

ListBox.ScrollIntoView doesn't work properly
If a ListBox has elements with different sizes and you call ScrollIntoView to the last Item, the ScrollViewer doesn't scroll to correct position.
You can reproduce it adding rectangles with 100px, 200px and 300px of height and calling ScrollIntoView to the last item.

Backup and restore
This functionality is incomplete. If we compare it with Android's Titanium Backup application, which backups from any Android device and restore (on any other Android device) with settings/configuratins and data and sync it on the cloud (Dropbox and Google Drive), the backup and restore in Windows Phone 8 is very basic (only provides pictures, videos, text-messages etc). Please provide us this feature so we can backup & restore the all or individual apps on multiple devices with setting and app-data.

Fix VoiceCommands so they work whether the app is in the foreground or not
Right now, Voice Commands registered for an app only work when an app is off, or in the background. They do not work if you are in the application already, and use Speech from the Windows key to navigate somewhere else in the app.
To the end user, it appears that the command is recognized and the system is taking you there, then it closes without actually doing anything. This appears to the end user like a bug in my application, not a system-wide OS bug.
I understand this was not necessarily the designed use case, but consider that the…

Debug over Wifi
When you unplug a WP device from your computer while debugging, you get an error message that the device on an IP address and port is no longer responding. If the debugger connects to the phone via IP, then why not allow for debugging over the local network? That way, someone can develop for Windows Phone in a Hyper-V VM, and still debug on a physical phone, just without plugging it in. There ought to be a way to build a Debug Agent app that can broadcast itself to the network so Visual Studio knows where to look.

Email app crashing upon loading certain code
Hi Microsoft,
I would like to report a bug certain HTML code that causes the Inbox to crash instantly upon viewing the email.I'm not sure if this can be abused as we've seen on Mango where the phone is non responsive upon receiving a specially crafted text via notification.
Please leave your email so I can sent you the information. I do not wish to leave it out there.
Thanks.

Stop/Pause Media Queue when Bluetooth Disconnects
If there is media being played via the Media Queue, the playstate should be paused automatically when a Bluetooth connection is lost. Currently the media continues to play via the internal speaker.
Alternatively, if the Media Queue is currently paused when a Bluetooth connection is present, it should resume playing.
At the very least, this should be a configuration settings to allow this behavior.

Fix Bing Maps control for slow connection
When there's only a slow network connection available, the Bing Maps control freezes when the user hits the hardware back button. This delay can take up to 30 seconds after which it can even happen that the app is terminated by the OS.
The bug has already been documented in multiple forum threads:

WebBrowser Control stops working if it reaches a site with BasicAuth
If you are browsing web in your app and you reach a site protected by basic auth the control stops working. It fires the navigating event but not the navigated event. Seems that it is waiting to receive credential but no popup is showed.
After this the control is no more usable the only option is to close the application and reload all.12 votes -

Contact object does not contain company phone number
If a contact has a phone number whose type is "company", then you have no way to access it in a 3rd-party app, because the Contact.PhoneNumbers does not contain it. It must be a bug, and it's terribly annoying for dialer apps. Pls fix it ASAP!

Live Tile Update
The Live Tile doesnt seem to update by itself for new items until i open the app and close it. No amount of rebooting/resetting seems to help. While Toast Notifications seem to work "real-time", the Live Tile update simply doesnt. To my mind this defeats the very purpose of a "Live" tile. Went through quite a few forums and this seems to be a common refrain. Using a Lumia 920.

Renaming an Email Account by making the letters capital or lowercase, cause an error message
If you are trying to rename an Email Account, by making the letters capital or lowercase, you get an error message:
‘You’re already using <account_name> for another account. Choose a different name for this account’.
Let’s say you need to rename ‘account_name’ to ‘Account_name’. User needs to then rename ‘account_name’ to ‘account_name_1’ (as an example) and then to the desired ‘Account_name’ (with a capita ‘A’).

Fix System.IO.FileNotFoundException when using ToggleButton derivatives!
There is an very old bug that is still present in Windows Phone 8 SDK: when a page has a control that inherits from ToggleButton (for example, CheckBox), System.IO.FileNotFoundException is thrown and shown in the Debug output.

Battery drain after running Spotify until phone reboot
Phone: Nokia Lumia 800,
OS Version 7.10.8773.98,
Firmware: 1750.0805.8773.12220
Hardware: 112.1402.2.3
Europe. The symptom was that some days the phone battery would not even last a day, while on the other days it would easily last more than a day.
Apparently, this depends if the Spotify had been used - if I use Spotify even for short time (15 minutes) the phone battery will be dead significantly faster (say after 8-10 hours instead of 30) than on a day when I had not listened to Spotify. If I reboot the phone after using Spotify the problem goes away.
I suspect…
