I Want to get Wifi strength info in wp7 api
I'm developing a indoor navigation app. I Want to wp7 support get wifi strength info api.
Thank you for the suggestion. We are not adding this capability in the 8.0 release, but know that it is high on the consideration list for future Windows Phone releases.
Keep those suggestions and votes coming!

Same request for indoor navigation! SDK can not get available wifi list and their detail information. Really can not understand why. WP can display it by system tools. Why not open it to developer?

Would really love to see this, but for all network types. If it shows in the app bar, it should be accessible. Cell strength, WiFi strength, events when they change, etc.

Not just WiFi but each network type that is available or connected so that we can advise users on large transfers.
This would seem like a simple extension of the xInfo class to facilitate this.

I have one running on Android for half year well; now no way to do that... yet found an App on Marketplace claiming to be able to show a list of points...

Yes please make an wifi-info-api. Returns bssid, network name, rssi, ...
It's not just for navigation but also for security validation in serious apps. We use this in Android apps all the time. -

i feel that in comparison to my iphone4 the wiFi all together is quite rubish on my wp7, i think it needs improving all together. but good idea on the strengh.

More specifically: What access points are around, how strong is their signal strength and maybe the possibility to dynamically connect to access points after a one time user confirmation.
