Allow debugging suspend when picking a file
This is my personal "favourite": mobile - file open picker - the app suspends but it cannot be debugged. All sorts of surprises can happen with a complex app.
What device are you on? With a device that supports Windows 10 Mobile (1gb of RAM), you shouldn’t see a suspend.
I am using VS 2015 Pro update 3. The SDK kit is 10.0.14393.0, and I am deploying for 10.0.10586.0 minimum and 10.0.14393.0 target version.
@Lollus, what SDK / VS are you deploying with?
The PC is on Win 10 Pro 64 bit version 1607 build 10.0.14393.105.
The 630 is on Win 10 Mobile version 1511 build 10.0.10586.164.
The 950XL is on Win 10 Mobile version 1607 build 10.0.14393.67.
Start VS - open project - set ARM - debug or deploy on device, in debug or release mode:
- The 630 works,
- The 950XL either
-- it hangs indefinitely ("a remote operation is taking longer than expected")
-- or hangs a little and then says "Error DEP0001 : Unexpected Error: -2147023436"
-- or hangs only a couple of seconds and says "Error DEP6701 : Bootstrapping failed with unexpected error: 'There is no phone connected.'
I can deploy on the 950 with the device portal, but debugging is out of the question. My own tracer (it writes logs to a text file) is good but never as useful as a real time debugger.
I already uninstalled the Comodo firewall, which blocked the Hyper-V machines, so at least I have the emulators back.
And yes, I have hard reset the phone already.
I think that is a bigger question on why it errors out. Can you email me with some details on model, Windows build on the device? crutkas@microsoft
I have a 630 and a 950XL.
The 630 only has 512 MB ram, I know it is too little for Windows 10 but I need it because VS (2015 pro) errors out when debugging the 950. I can only debug the 630.
