Microsoft Edge Developer
Hi, are you a web developer or designer?
“No, I just want to share feedback on Microsoft Edge.”
Please use the Feedback Hub (requires Windows 10) to submit your feedback in the Microsoft Edge category. This site is for web developer and designer feedback only. Other feedback will be closed without action.
“Yes, I’m a web developer or designer with feedback for the Microsoft Edge platform.”
Great! This site is where the Microsoft Edge team collects feature requests from the web developer and designer community in the categories listed to the right. For bugs on existing features, please log an issue on the Issue Tracker.
Your feedback will help us with planning and to better understand how web developers and designers are using the platform. Top standards-based feature requests will also be copied over to status.microsoftedge.com, where you can track its development status.
For the most actionable feedback, please search and up vote for existing suggestions before submitting a new suggestion, and create a separate suggestion per idea. Note that off topic or inappropriate suggestions may be moderated. The Microsoft Edge team will use suggestions as an important input, but there are several additional factors that inform the final roadmap.
A note from our lawyers: Please do not send any novel or patentable ideas, copyrighted materials, samples or demos which you do not want to grant a license to Microsoft. See the Terms of Service for more information.

Please be careful with making Edge Chromium-based
I've recently read articles about the engine of Edge is being replaced by Chromium.
I don't think this is a good idea. Microsoft Edge manages to do what no browser can do. It plays online HTML5 videos with the speed and low-resource need comparable to a native video player (like VLC or Media Player Classic).
This is YouTube playback in Chrome and Edge compared, on the same hardware.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu1VuKTCOK8Chrome and Chromium are famous about having a very catastrophic, bloated multimedia backend, especially when it comes to video playback. GPU acceleration is hardly compatible with any video hardware. Also it…

lazyLoad
Currently, LazyLoad ( https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/dn369270(v=vs.94) ) is implemented in IE and Edge, see support: https://caniuse.com/#feat=lazyload
However there is interest in standardization to enable developers lazy-loading images/iframes and other embedded content (and the proposed lazyLoad's attribute values differ from that of current Edge/IE implementation):

Give Edge at least the same functionality as the product it replaced (IE)
Put the Favourites links back into the users' favourites folder on the desktop. The current location of Edge favourites' links is utterly ridiculous - the pathway is about a page long, and clearly intended to prevent users from directly managing their bookmark links the same way we could with IE. This is ****, and if MS had any sort of interest in their clients and user base, they wouldn't make such stupid, alienating, non-consultative decisions.
Fix this now, before we all choose Firefox instead !!!!!!1 vote -
Give Edge at least the same functionality as the product it replaced (IE)
Put back the toolbars and users' ability to customise them. You've really buggered up your own product here. What idiot approved development of a product that doesn't have at least the same functionality as the one it replaced? Edge may run faster, but your users have to waste their own time doing simple **** like printing, which is now no longer a simple click on a single button. Edge doesn't even preselect the buttons it does have. MS, stop screwing your user base and forcing us into other user friendlier apps.

Don't steal my focus from a text box, especially if it's for a pop-up to make recommendations for things I may not want.
Don't take the focus from a text box or user entry when pop-ups show up. It make the user experience very annoying. It should leave the focus on the text box the user is using and/or actively typing in so that they can finish their standard task.

Remove browser agent string
Remove the browser agent string since it leads to developers doing dumb browser sniffing instead of using doing things like checking if the browser supports something by trying it out.
Removing it would show also that you are pro standards when it comes to web development since developers would have to rely more on them instead of browser specific bugs.

Prevent FOUT and control font loading with CSS font-display
https://tabatkins.github.io/specs/css-font-display/#descdef-font-face-font-display
font-display gives easy, and precise control over Flash Of Unstyled Text.
It's makes it possible to tell the browser how long it should wait for a font before rendering a fallback.
Some sites use JavaScript/localStorage hacks to use fallback font on the first uncached load, and then use custom fonts on later visits. This is also possible with font-display without JS/hacks.

use Surface Book dGPU for WebGL and WebVR
On a Surface Book 1 and Surface Book 2, both running Edge 16 with latest patches, FishGL gets <20fps. Looking at Task Manager, the Edge process is not using the NVidia discrete GPU *at all*. WebVR on the Surface Book 2 was similarly poor in performance. Please use the dGPU when WebGL or WebVR are in-use on a tab. If that means the tab has to be suspended or reloaded when detaching, that's fine by me.

The website pop up ads on Edge have become unbearable
Ads on websites have become literally unbearable. They often pop up and cover the content. Please do something about this.

Support the Device Memory API
It’s still in development, but the Device Memory API (https://github.com/w3c/device-memory) would be a relatively easy implementation that could enable "lite" versions of page assets.

Hide the "Make a Web Note" button. Or just pleas let me hide the useless button on the top right.
I want to hide the useless buttons for making a web not, hub? and the share button. I will never use these and its an eye sore. I like Edge more than Chrome and I won't switch back to Chrome if these ridiculous buttons were gone.

LinkedIn would not allow me to post a message in LinkedIn. It worked fine in IE. Isn't LinkedIn one of the aquisitions of ms?

Dynamic CSS transform animations janky on mousemove event
Currently, Edge will prioritize user events for responsiveness/performance. https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2017/06/01/input-responsiveness-event-loop-microsoft-edge/#BmaPczGdg4dDGHDA.97
It would appear that this causing issues when trying to update layout/rendering on a mousemove/pointermove event.
The result is janky animations. Check out the plunk in Edge and Chrome.
https://plnkr.co/edit/eCDkPjvEKWTpMirkXgV8?p=preview
Chrome is very smooth, whereas Edge/IE11/FireFox stutter on the mousemove event.
