Microsoft Edge Developer
Hi, are you a web developer or designer?
“No, I just want to share feedback on Microsoft Edge.”
Please use the Feedback Hub (requires Windows 10) to submit your feedback in the Microsoft Edge category. This site is for web developer and designer feedback only. Other feedback will be closed without action.
“Yes, I’m a web developer or designer with feedback for the Microsoft Edge platform.”
Great! This site is where the Microsoft Edge team collects feature requests from the web developer and designer community in the categories listed to the right. For bugs on existing features, please log an issue on the Issue Tracker.
Your feedback will help us with planning and to better understand how web developers and designers are using the platform. Top standards-based feature requests will also be copied over to status.microsoftedge.com, where you can track its development status.
For the most actionable feedback, please search and up vote for existing suggestions before submitting a new suggestion, and create a separate suggestion per idea. Note that off topic or inappropriate suggestions may be moderated. The Microsoft Edge team will use suggestions as an important input, but there are several additional factors that inform the final roadmap.
A note from our lawyers: Please do not send any novel or patentable ideas, copyrighted materials, samples or demos which you do not want to grant a license to Microsoft. See the Terms of Service for more information.

Add support for the arithmetic coded JPEG, which saves 10% of file size losslessly
As arithmetic coding patents for JPEG have now expired, it would be nice to support arithmetic coding in the JPEG. It will allow recompress existing JPEG files using arithmetic coding losslessly, as the result size of all JPEG files will be reduced by 10%.

Webex
Please develop a Webex extension so that Webex webcasts can be accessed through Microsoft Edge. I really like Edge, but I watch quite a few Webex webcasts, which I have to view through Chrome. A nuisance.

Add amr format support for Audio
AMR is widely used on mobile devices when recording voices. It's useful to play amr directly on web.

Add print margin setting of None to correctly print full page HTML5 and PDFs.
I work for a large well known Office Products company. Edge is not capable of correctly printing sheets of labels, business cards, and other products because of the inability to print full sized sheets correctly. This is because the "Narrow" margin choice clips the border of the sheet. With a setting of "None" this would be corrected. Google Chrome notices that if a page is exactly the size of the sheet of paper it does not rescale. Scaling of 100% could be applied without any margins. Newer printers are capable of having very small margins and even some print to…

This specification extends the Media Capture and Streams specification [GETUSERMEDIA] to allow a depth-only stream or combined depth+video stream to be requested from the web platform using APIs familiar to web authors.

Support for embedded audio in SVG animations
Please add support for embedded audio in SVG animations in EDGE.
For example to playback files like this:On Chrome and Safari it works fine. Not on EDGE.
Many cartoon episodes on the web require SVG embedded audio.

Please add Media Source Extension support to IE 11 on Windows 7.
Please add support for Media Source Extensions to Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7. This update will match what is currently available using Chrome or Firefox.
In addition it is very confusing that this feature is available on IE 11 with Windows 8 and 10 but not 7.

WINDOWS 10 & WINDOWS 8.1: HTML input dialog does not contain camera app
I'm posting this under IE development although it is in my view not a browser problem but a problem of Windows 10 & Windows 8.1.
I have a web application which uses standard HTML input elements type="file" to open the filepicker dialog. On a mobile device this will open in Windows 8, IOS & Android a dialog which allows the user among others to select the camera app of the device. The user can than take a photo and after finishing post the photos location back to the browser, like he would select a "normal" file. In Windows 8.1 &…

HEVC Support
Hi,
H265 aka HEVC is the successor of the H264 video format.
HEVC is said to double the data compression ratio compared to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC at the same level of video quality. It can alternatively be used to provide substantially improved video quality at the same bit rate. It can support 8K UHD and resolutions up to 8192×4320.What about to support this in Microsoft Edge and IE?

Web Audio API AudioContext needs suspend and resume.
WAA AudioContext has a supend and resume call per the official spec. This will stop/resume audio playback and also stop.resume the audio clock. Without this, any playing buffers or buffers queued for playing will need to be stopped, and restarted from where they left off, which can get messy.

Allow multiple consecutive calls to print()
When I try to call print() multiple time in succession, the print dialog shows: Nothing was sent to print. Open a document and try again.
https://jsfiddle.net/2qsch8f7/Chrome and FF prompt user with multiple consecutive print dialogs instead.

make Edge handle bgsounds like Internet Explorer so they play
Edge does not play bgsounds (background sounds) like music on web pages. Internet Explorer played .wav sounds perfectly, but since upgrading to Windows 10 and Edge, all the sounds on web pages are no longer working. I checked and Adode Flash is active but still no sounds.

Printing API
In IE, there was print templates to manage printing pages. Like MeadCo ScriptX ActiveX plugin, we need to be able to do everthing programmatically that can be achieved with print dialog and print templates. It would be great if it becomes HTML5 specification too.(Raw Printing should also be included).

activities
Support web activities standard, which is only currently supported by Firefox OS and was dropped in chrome. This will allow nice things in the web, like an improved ease in sharing things in social networks and creating media on the web by mashing up content from disparate websites. Furthermore, a standard should be pushed for. As long as there is a standard for this which works, I don't think anyone will care whether it's web activities or web intents (the two APIs which were proposed in the past for this)
