W3C Manifest support
Add support for the new W3C manifest specification for pinned apps as well as for Windows store applications.
The spec allows for vendor extensions which can be used for things missing in the Level 1 of the spec. A lot of things have already been planned for Level 2 so it would be great if the MS team could participate in the discussions
Google has already implemented this in Chrome and Mozilla has committed to implementing it too. The web needs a standard manifest for web applications. This should replace the current proprietary meta tags Internet Explorer uses such as msapplication-starturl
The W3C Web Application Manifest is now under development: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/status/webapplicationmanifest

This is a great opportunity for Microsoft to compensate the lack of a own huge Play/App-Store. Just do it!
