Update CSS Grid
Update the IE implementation of Grid Layout to match the current spec. The current implementation from the IE 10 days is outdated.
CSS Grid is included in Edge 16 that was released today as part of the Windows 10 Fall Creators update.
Thank you for getting started!

Finally, at last! It's really been forever, way too long for the guys who actually launched CSS grids first, and for something with "high priority on the backlog" since September 2015. But nice to see things moving.
By the way, it's "excited", not "exited"

Hi @Anonymous. This will not be coming to IE11 as that is in maintenance mode, primarily for enterprise customers who rely on ActiveX and other legacy technology for their internal Line of Business apps.
For many of the most common use cases, such as 2/3 column page layout with header/footer, you can use the old -ms- syntax for IE10 and 11. Generally if you you have a known amount of elements on the page using Grid, then the old syntax will work. Other more complex layouts can be achieved combining Grid with Flexbox children.
Any chance of getting this into IE11 as well, given that it is still the most widely used Microsoft browser?

Great to see it's finally in development! This is a much-needed update, especially that most of the other browsers just shipped it in March.

Is it done? That is very important. I am thinking on: How it is possible a Web Software Engineer forget this feature or push out. This is a dumb idea.
Prioritize it higher! It's shipped in all major browsers except Edge now. Shocking that it's not in the Creators Update.

Surprised it was not in the Creators update for Win10 - can you update us on the timeline? (Sep 2015 is like so year-b4-lastyear) :)
Marc Logemann commented
Please do it. Otherwise we need to ship our products with the notice that you cant use any Microsoft browser. And we definitely can push our customers to others browsers.
oh microsoft. Aren't you getting tired of always being the last? Always be that one annoying browser vendor that lags behind?
You were first to start implementing it, so come on! I would be proud on you guys if you could finally...... step up your game. It's about time.
Get CSS Grid in this. ASAP thanks
PLEASE UPDATE ASAP!!
And please - upgrade IE11 and IE10 also. Or kill this **** browser! Many of user use this browser and no new technology can fully be used if web developers have to take care of these **** browsers.
So PLEASE! Upgrade or shut them down. And please react faster on new technology!

Please make the priority higher. IE only makes itself more irrelevant the longer it waits to catch up on this very important spec.
Release early - but update often.
