Allow to customize colors for a terminal

With the new 24-bit color options, it would be great to actually be able to use some of the new colors.

It's already well known that you can change colors in the registry to change the colors of the console.
According to this article, you can also change colors on a single shortcut (.lnk) https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20130527-00/?p=4253

Now it would be great to have a UI for changing colors.
The current UI only allows changes to Screen Text, Screen Background, Popup Text and Popup Background.

I would like to define the 16 original colors as another variant of those colors. For example blue is for me too dark and I want to change it to a lighter blue.

Will the change allow for the setting of colors 1-22 instead of just the default 16 colors?

Give wsltty (https://github.com/mintty/wsltty) a try, it uses the same "terminal" as cygwin (mintty) which in turn, if I've got it and remember it correctly, it's forked from the code base of putty. It provides a lot of great features that any putty enthusiast will find familiar.
Nevertheless, not having to rely on third-party software would be even better.

(Later edit: why there is no "edit" button? I had to delete my comment in order to fix an error )

I am not very familiar with the console to understand what "emit VT sequences" mean. Is there a way to get this project https://github.com/chriskempson/base16-shell to work?

Base16 is quite a popular project and includes a setting of the default 16 colors that make it possible for the theme colors to work.
