enable kernel header support, as well as linux-tools-3.4.0+
Some features that require kernel support, such as openAFS and perf (and kernel level linux-tools in general), do not work due to lack of kernel support. Is that something we can expect to be implemented any time soon? Perhaps, not by implementing a Linux kernel, but by having Windows kernel work with Linux kernel headers?
Support for linux-tools/perf is important for micro-benchmarking in JVM languages through the Java Microbenchmarking Harness (http://openjdk.java.net/projects/code-tools/jmh/). It used among other things for fine-tuning for performance, or analysing bottlenecks. Without it, the usability of JMH is limited.
For HPC development and AI developement, 1) GPU support and 2) linux tools / perf for cycle counter and in-CPU counters are both important.
That would be excellent. We need Interrupts and have perf / linux tools work on WSL !

WSL's kernel side is not Linux, it is a proprietary subsystem specifically tailored for WSL use.
