I'm not sure if the problem with emulating vsyscall as described in https://github.com/Microsoft/WSL/issues/1462 is now considered to be a feature of WSL. It seems it has been marked as such. The upshot is that many scientific Linux programs we use at work cannot run on WSL. Does anybody know what the status of this issue is or if it will be addressed?

Is anybody able to provide an answer to this problem? The thread on GitHub suggests that users suffering from this problem should complain to the software vendors and ask them to recompile their sources with more recent compilers. But this is an unhelpful position to take as it merely means users will be more inclined to install native Linux rather than WSL. WSL will consequently be seen as not quite on par with native Linux.
