Overtyping and Ctrl+X should delete selected text in the prompt

Right now if I select text that I've just typed and not executed, and press Ctrl+X, it acts like Ctrl-C and copies. It really should remove the text...

Same thing if I select text and type, obviously.

yes, indeed. this is an obvious one that we didn’t overlook, simply ran out of time before the Tech Preview. We expect to get this working soon. Understand that expectations can change due to internal “resource allocations,” but even so I’m giving it very good odds. :)

Perhaps the overall 'line editing' (ala the original readline interaction) should be followed; then my fingers don't have to figure out which command shell I'm in.

Along the same vein, with text selected pressing Delete or Backspace only deletes the last character of the selection and not the entire selection as expected.
