Pranav - If the appx package is installed, then all the registry entries specified in the manifest are registered in the catalog for Packaged COM. Applications that access your classes through standard COM calls (CoCreateInstance, etc) will work as the COM apis look in both the public registry and the Packaged COM catalog.

What does not work, is any app that tries to lookup/enumerate registry keys directly - ie: ClsIds, IIds, TypeLibIds, etc, as that app will only see what is in the public registry (HKLM, HKCU, etc). One area where you will see this limitation is Visual Studio and the AddReference dialog - for COM references VS currently enumerates the Typelibs in the registry and does not see the Packaged COM catalog.

      Hope this helps,
      Adam Braden [MS]

      Pranav,
The PackagedCOM Server can be installed on a Windows 10 Creators Update drop and it will register the public classes and interfaces thru Packaged COM. Then an existing client can be deployed that uses those classes & interfaces.

If you are seeing CLASS_NOT_REGISTERED errors, can you confirm you've deployed the appx package (either by double clicking the appx file or running "add-appxpackage <packagename.appx>"? If you've only done a build in VS, then nothing gets registered on the system.

      Thanks,
      Adam Braden [MS]

The setup of the base image looks to have failed. Make sure you go through restart if you get prompted. After restart Powershell should start up and finish the operations.

We have seen cases where antivirus program was the culprit, maybe try disabling it if you have one running and try again.

You could remove the expanded base image manually from “C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Images\” and try expanding it again, in case the clean up operation was somehow failing.

You can also search for “E_EXPANDED_BASEIMG_INVALID“ error online to see if any of the documented workarounds unblock you. If you are still having issues it's best to open a new topic on Stack Overflow or Windows Forums.

        Thank you for the log.

Can you please try cleaning up the expanded image, re-download the base image from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/dac and try again?

        DesktopAppConverter -Cleanup "ExpandedImage" -Verbose

When that operation is finished run:

        DesktopAppConverter -Setup -BaseImage "x:\<full_path>\BaseImage-16299.wim" -Verbose

If you are still having issues, you can ask us on Stack Overflow:
        https://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/project-centennial+or+desktop-bridge

Can you please share the DesktopAppConverter.log?

Seems like you are using UI Access to emulate an onscreen keyboard/trackpad essentially.

Sure a video would be nice.

Can you please explain a little bit what you are trying to accomplish here?

Do you have the sample app on GitHub so we can take a look?

              Thank you for your feedback.

Hey Rafael. We have fixed this behavior in the latest releases of the Desktop Bridge Debugging project. Now all properties are stored in the .vsdproj file, and we support relative paths.

Please let us know if still have the same issue

                Thanks

Thank you for your feedback. This is currently not supported.

Can you please explain your scenario? What would you use the list for?

If for example the goal is to notify and engage with your users, there are other ways to accomplish that.

Can you please explain the scenarios a bit more?

Is the goal to somehow download the right version of the app from the Store depending on something running in the OS?It will be helpful to understand more about this "backend software".

                        Hello Markus,

Is the base image you're using from https://aka.ms/converterimages?

                        Thanks,

Hi Rafael. Can you verify that this happens if you create a new project with the latest version? If you open the project created with the previous version you will get the same issue.

Thank you for your feedback. We are designing the tools needed to make the transition to appx easier, however it can not be as simple as adding a new button since the user needs to edit the manifest, associate to the store, etc.. If you are interested in providing feedback about this new feature, please contact me @ridomin

Thanks for your comments here. Yes, you are right, we are evaluating adding the Store Publishing Wizard to help the manifest edition and package creation, as we do for standard UWP projects. Please, let me know (@ridomin) if you are interested in providing feedback to the product group.

                              Thanks for your feedback Bozhidar.
I added your suggestion to our backlog to automatically copy from a pre-defined location.
Meanwhile please copy it on the first run of the app.

                              Thanks,
                              Vlad
