      Workaround here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/33573929/uwp-binding-in-style-setter-not-working

      But agree this is a gotcha as there's no indication of why it doesn't work anywhere outside a blurb in the setter docs here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/uwp/api/Windows.UI.Xaml.Setter#Windows_UI_Xaml_Setter_Value

        You have access to the Windows.UI.ViewManagement.UISettings and AccessibilitySettings classes in JavaScript which can get you the info about the theme selection and highcontrast mode.

            @Mike here's an example of what I've been able to figure out how to do so far: https://gist.github.com/michael-hawker/becf8c1b9f781a91eeebb747c2955233

            It seems you have to specify a property name in the extension, you can't just read in the text/value directly as a parameter to the constructor.

            You also can't seem to specify/resolve any other binding as a parameter to a property value that I've seen.

                  The System.Reflection.Emit package exists in NuGet and is UWP compatible (at least in memory): https://www.nuget.org/packages/System.Reflection.Emit/

                  You just need to add it to your NuGet project references.

                          I feel like if the WinRT could use TypeScript as an intermediary to JavaScript, then this could solve the inheritance and generic issues that are currently blocked.

                                  If I precisely size a WebView in XAML, then it's showing me a scrollbar still even though the height is precise. My internal HTML content handles the scroll, but I'm still getting a XAML based scrollbar I can't disable and then in turn lets the user scroll past the 'end of the page' and see a white bar (page background as web content background is different color).

                                      Thanks for the feedback William! With the fall Creators update we are introducing conditional runtime statements in markup. This will be backwards compatible to the Creators update and later (min version 15063).

                                      You can append a conditional statement to your namespace with the following syntax:
                                      xmlns:Creators=“using:foo?IsApiContractPresent(Windows.Foundation.UniversalApiContract,4)”

                                      Objects and properties marked with the ‘Creators’ namespace will only be parsed if the conditional statement is true.

                                      Sample markup to conditionally show text:
                                      xmlns:Creators=“http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation?IsApiContractPresent(Windows.Foundation.UniversalApiContract,4)”/>;
                                      < Button Background=“Green” Creators:Content=“Show text if on creators”/>

                                      We’re in the process of adding documentation, samples and tooling for the feature. You can live on the bleeding edge and use it now – be aware that there might be some rough edges in tooling :).

                                      To write adapative code that works on versions before the Creators Update, you’ll need to use on the methods outlined here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/debug-test-perf/version-adaptive-code

                                          Yeah, this is weird. I received an 'unspecified error' exception. Having to add a FileTypeFilter to a Folder picker is bizarre.
