I created a new GitHub issue to track this feature request - https://github.com/microsoft/microsoft-ui-xaml/issues/727. Please comment and upvote on GitHub.

SwipeControl and other Xaml controls have been open sourced, and the best place to propose changes similar to this one is on our https://github.com/Microsoft/microsoft-ui-xaml repo. Can someone create a new feature request using the template on GitHub, https://github.com/Microsoft/microsoft-ui-xaml/issues/new/choose

@sjb - TreeView and other Xaml controls have been open sourced, and the best place to propose changes to controls is now on our https://github.com/Microsoft/microsoft-ui-xaml repo. Would you mind creating a new feature request using the template on GitHub, https://github.com/Microsoft/microsoft-ui-xaml/issues/new/choose

Thank you for your feedback. We've added a PaneBackground property to our feature backlog.

As far as acrylic in NavigationView's Pane, you're seeing the correct default behavior in WPF Xaml Islands which matches the latest UWP appearance. The current recommendation for using acrylic (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/design/style/acrylic#when-to-use-acrylic) is on transient, temporary surfaces. NavigationView's pane does use in-app acrylic when the pane is open in Compact or Minimal modes, which are both transient. When the pane is open in Expanded mode, the pane background defaults to a solid color to match acrylic guidance.

You can still update the values of NavigationViewDefaultPaneBackground and NavigationViewExpandedPaneBackground resources to customize the pane background. In WPF, it's possible to construct a dictionary with these resources in code and add them to Application.Current.Resources.

Thank you for your report. The feature team is investigating this problem.

In the meantime, you can replace your Pivot with a NavigationView set to Top PaneDisplayMode - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/design/controls-and-patterns/navigationview#display-modes.

Alternatively, you may be able to use Windows Community Toolkit's TabView - https://github.com/windows-toolkit/WindowsCommunityToolkit/pull/2565

Thomas, thank you for the suggestion. Can you clarify what's missing from CommandBar? Is item positioning (left-to-right instead of CommandBar's right-aligned primary area) the only issue making you ask for a new control? Or are there additional gaps?

Thank you for your feedback. Can you elaborate on this idea? Is there documentation from other platforms that already enable the behavior you're hoping for?
